Michael, Emily Jane and Claire assisted with dinner by creating a fabulous salad. Claire was so pleased with the result that she actually ate it! I walked around stupefied for hours. Claire's first vegetable in years (if you don't count french fries which my dad told me was really a root).

Sarah and Elaine were in charge of the cooking last night and they did a delicious job! They made Mediterranean pasta and salad. Fantastico!

We're in Colorado!!!

We arrived here on Saturday and it has been busy!! I'll let the kids fill you in but I'll add some pictures first... We love you!

The Beginning

My father is leaving for San Diego tomorrow, working for the Office of Naval Research, and will be staying at the Officer's Quarters. We are going to miss him so much! Claudia received her first family hug because every one was hugging Daddy. Claudia will be very grown up by the next time Dad sees her, almost a lady. ;)

Despite all this depression, we have hope. Grandma is coming tomorrow and then off we are to COLORADO!! Colorado sounds like sooo much fun. And although we are sad, now is not the time for moping but for sheer joy in the fact that while some families are separated, others are created.

So today, when the MacDonalds say farewell to their father for a month, they are about to embark on a new journey, full of new things to do.

HERE WE COME COLORADO!!
